Students

Apprenticeship programmes are ideal for career starters, employees looking for career advancement and professionals wanting to reskill and change direction.

Students are supported in their learning by our Link Tutors who play a key role in coaching students on a 1-1 basis. Regular meetings with a personal tutor and line manager ensure that apprentices stay on track and are well-supported to meet the demands of the practical and academic elements of the course

An apprenticeship programme enables you to earn a salary and learn at the same time. You must have a full-time job to do an apprenticeship and your employer must agree to support you.

You will have an initial assessment to identify which programme of learning is best for you and what support you need.

Once on programme, you will spend 20% of your time in off-the-job learning. This could be attending lectures, workshops, training sessions or independent study to complete assignments.

You will have regular progress meetings with a personal coach at LMC and your line manager to support you to apply your learning to your job role. You will be supported to develop the required knowledge and skills for your programme and to meet the requirements of the End Point Assessment.

If you already have a job

Speak to your employer to see how they can support you. They may already have an apprenticeship scheme in place. Even if your employer does not have an apprenticeship scheme in place, they will only contribute 5% to the cost of the apprenticeship training. If you are aged 16-21 your employer may not have to pay anything for the training.
